Michael Page are working with a highly successful business who have seen a large amount of growth in the last 12 months. As a result, they have a brand new opening within the team for a Senior Accounts Assistant.
Description
As Senior Accounts Assistant, you will report directly into the Financial Controller, and duties will include:
- Assist with the monitoring of balance sheet controls to ensure accurate reconciliation of ledgers and payments to all external parties for all entities.
- Assist with preparation of the VAT returns to a high degree of accuracy
- Continuous monitoring of VAT codes used on purchase invoices
- Assist with ensuring accurate calculation of input VAT on employee expenses, working with internal audit to uphold validity of claims.
- Prepare PAYE payment files on a monthly basis for all group companies, ensuring these are fully reconciled to RTI submissions and that any differences are fully investigated and actioned.
- First point of contact for accounts/payroll queries for international entities.
- Responsible for review and maintaining the accuracy of international management accounts each month.
- Ongoing review and identification of any opportunity for integration/efficiencies
- Supporting the wider team with month end completion and production of management accounts.
- Continuous monitoring of the current provision of internal reports and where relevant making recommendations for improvements to both content and process.
Profile
The candidate will have:
- Experience in a similar Accounting role - Required
- Prior involvement with month-end processes - Required
- AAT qualified - Desirable
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel - Required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - Required
- Previous SAGE experience - Desirable
- Can-do attitude and an eagerness to progress - Required
