I am currently recruiting for a Legal Cashier to join highly reputable and award-winning Solicitors based close to Altrincham.

The ideal person will have previous experience within legal cashiering and legal accounts management. The role will require someone to handle, manage and record financial transactions.You must have excellent attention to detail and be able to accurately manage and record incoming and outgoing bank transactions in accordance with regulations. You must be able to work well in a small team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What will you be doing as a Legal Cashier?

  • Providing support to the Head of Finance
  • Processing and recording all financial transactions in accordance with the firm's processes and policies
  • Logging and banking incoming cheques, issuing cheques, petty cash and bank transfers
  • Recording automated payments in and out of the firm's bank accounts
  • Conducting reconciliations of bank, petty cash accounts and client ledgers
  • Recording incoming and outgoing invoices and on occasion supporting the preparation of outgoing invoices
  • Administering of the purchase ledger
  • Preparing and processing working papers and assisting with the annual audit
  • Preparing of credit control advice and the pursuit of debtors by letter and telephone
  • VAT administration and returns
  • Financial management reporting

We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Trained in the principles of bookkeeping and preferably with experience within legal cashiering and legal account management
  • Formal accounts qualification desirable
  • IT skills across all Microsoft packages, Excel and Outlook
  • Clear communication skills by telephone, face to face, and written
  • Able to work as part of a team with a positive and can-do attitude
  • Time management skills

What will you get in return for your work as a Legal Cashier?

  • £12.80ph (£25k salary equivalent)
  • Working hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am-5.30pm
  • Weekly pay
  • Accrual of holidays, paid in addition to hourly wage
  • Temporary role initially with room to transfer to a permanent role for the right person
