Hale Golf Club is a private members club founded in 1903 with some 500 members. Situated in the affluent area of South Trafford, approximately ten miles south of Manchester city centre, the Club has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its food, the standard of the course and for having a welcoming and friendly environment. The club house bar area and separate dining room together with a well-equipped kitchen providing space and capacity for various events.

The club is looking for a Head Chef with a proven track record in catering management, preferably at a private members club or successful restaurant and who has banqueting experience.The candidate will:-

Often work alone, but must be able to manage a small team in the kitchen on larger occasions.

Have the ability to create and deliver a consistently high level of catering, ranging from snack menu food to gourmet evenings, BBQs and informal dining.

Be able to produce menus tailored to requests and have the creativity to create menus for the many social occasions the club holds.

Be responsible for kitchen purchases, recording stock levels and also for the maintenance of all machinery, equipment, fixtures and fittings within the kitchen and store areas.

Be up-to-date with all statutory and local government regulations, particularly Health & Safety, kitchen hygiene (maintain the current 5* rating) and allergen documentation.

They must be flexible in their hours of work, average 45 hours per week.

The candidate will meet with the House Manager / Chair of House regularly to discuss the business, financial and relevant operational performances and report on any issues arising.
