ASD Teaching Assistant

We are currently supporting a school in the Altrincham area who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, empathetic and reliable ASD SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the upcoming academic year.
The role is full time and will continue throughout the academic year until July 2025 and could become permanent for the right person. You will be supporting pupils who are aged 7 to 16 years old. You may be working with a small group or at times, on a 1-2-1 basis. The school require someone who has a good,strong understanding of ASC, trauma and brain injuries and be able to put boundaries in place whilst building a positive relationship with the students. There could be times where the pupil can display some behavioural difficulties.
The team at this school are dedicated to continuously working closely with parents and carers to provide the best possible outcome for each child. Offering various enrichment activities which in turn encourages pupils to progress through the various aspects of the curriculum.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience providing personal care with young people (desirable)Previous experience working with young people with ASD or PTSD (essential)Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, but we can provide training)Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, but we can provide training)Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, but, we can provide training)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UKHold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide two professional child related referencesExperience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Autism (ASD/ASC)Previous suppor work, TA or LSA work within a UK school or other related experience.A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
