The Exam and Cover Manager will be responsible for delivering and co-ordinating all examination and teacher cover activities.Main Duties of the Exam and Cover Manager:

  • Efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of the administration and entry of public and internal examinations at all levels including GCSE, Advanced level and vocational courses for all candidates
  • Act as the main point of contact for Examination Boards
  • Collect and distribute information from the Examination Boards to Heads of Department, as appropriate
  • Keep staff informed of changes to specifications, training events and deadlines
  • To receive and record daily staff absence information and report this to SLT / School Business Manager/ HR Manager
  • To manage the day-to-day cover arrangements in school, using internal cover where available and liaising with staffing agencies when necessary
  • To ensure appropriate cover work is available for cover lessons

Role Requirements:

  • Recognised administrative qualification at NVQ3 level, or above or the equivalent gained through experience.
  • Experience of working in a school environment and managing the administration of exams and cover
  • Managing / Supervision of other members of staff
  • Knowledge and expertise of working with SIMS or similar management information systems.
  • Evidence of a pro-active approach to planning and prioritising work, with the ability to use initiative appropriately.
