Working Foreman - Social Housing Sector
Location: Manchester area.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Working Foreman to join a social housing contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction sites, supervising a skilled workforce, and ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The Working Foreman will play a key role in delivering housing refurbishments and working on Void properties while maintaining positive client relationships and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily operations on site, ensuring that the project runs on time and within budget. Manage a team of operatives and subcontractors, delegating tasks effectively.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections, and addressing any hazards or risks immediately.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards, and conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and building regulations.
- Coordinate the delivery of materials, tools, and equipment. Ensure that all resources are available and used efficiently to avoid delays.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring any concerns or updates are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Report regularly on project progress, including labour, material usage, and any potential delays or issues.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation (e.g., timesheets, risk assessments, method statements) is maintained and up to date.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget by working closely with the Project Manager and Site Managers
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the social housing or refurbishment industry.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, tools, and techniques.
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme.
- Previous experience working in the social housing sector.
