Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting Wills and assisting with Will preparations
- Assisting with the administration of estates, including applying for Grants of Probate
- Advising clients on inheritance tax, estate planning and trust structures
- Assisting in the preparation and administration of trusts
- Preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications
- Conducting legal research and preparing correspondence
- Managing a caseload with supervision and maintaining client relationships
- Assisting senior colleagues with complex cases and transactions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Wills, Trusts and Probate law (or experience gained through a legal trainee role or paralegal position)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with support
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and legal procedures in private client matters
- A strong client-focused approach with the ability to develop and maintain relationships
- A team player with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Commercially aware and able to work effectively to targets and deadlines
- Experience dealing with high-net-worth clients or complex estates is an advantage
- A strong desire to develop your expertise in Wills, Trusts and Probate law
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely while meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships with clients
- Commercially minded
- Innovative and the ability to challenge and adapt
- Business development experience is preferred
- Law degree/LPC or relevant legal qualification
