Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Altrincham

Pay Rates: £84.50- £95.50 a day

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday (Working hours vary depending on the day)

Reeson education are working with a large secondary school in Altrincham who are looking to find an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term role to start in as soon as possible.

Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:

  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures and support class teachers with managing behaviour effectively to ensure an engaging and safe learning environment
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher
  • Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable
  • Use ICT skills to advance pupils' learning and undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher

Learning support assistant Qualifications/experience:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 months' work/volunteer experience with children or young people.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma are desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Attributes: A passion for supporting children's education, a proactive approach, and a willingness to adapt to different school environments.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
