Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing Sports Coach to join this supportive environment. This role provides the opportunity to work with students, both individually and in small groups, to re-engage them with their learning. As a Sports Coach, you will play a crucial role in motivating and inspiring students with Autism & SEMH. (experience not essential from a SEND setting)

  • Collaborate with Teachers to deliver bespoke learning focused on student's interests, vocational studies, and functional skills in English and Maths.
  • Engage students who have become disengaged with their learning as a Sports Coach.
  • Model and maintain high standards of behaviour.
  • Build strong rapport with students to encourage participation and motivation as a Sports Coach.
  • Work closely with the team to prepare students for life beyond school, ensuring they leave with the skills they need for independence.
  • As a Teaching Assistant, inspire students to develop new skills and engage in activities that support their learning and well being.
  • Create positive, fun, and engaging sports sessions that motivate and energise the students to participate in their learning.

Key Requirements:

  • Understanding of Autism & SEMH
  • Knowledge of vocational education is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and resilience.
  • Ability to model positive behaviour and encourage engagement.
  • Passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • A driving license and own transport is desirable.
