KM85 – Warehouse Operative Location: Altrincham Salary: £25,400 - £27,000 Per AnnumJob Summary: Day to day 3PL operations, including email management and forklift operations for all Key Account freight & stock arrivals and departures. Also, general warehouse operational work.Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative on behalf of one of our clients. Applications from ex-military candidates are actively encouraged, however all candidates will be given due consideration.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring all emails and day-to-day requests from Key Account team.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by applying a ‘Safety First’ approach to working
  • Ensure all equipment and areas of the warehouse are clean, tidy and orderly
  • Daily checks to be completed of all mechanical equipment to ensure they are safe to use
  • Booking in of all incoming stock and storing in a safe manner. Ensuring these are put in the correct locations.
  • Order Picking – Pick and prepare products for shipping, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Quality – Ensure the inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances to the Supervisor/Line Manager.
  • Completing QC procedures as/when required.
  • Tracking monthly storage and handling charges and communicating to the Key Account team
  • Warehouse security – keeping warehouse secure, reporting any discrepancy in stock to the Supervisor and warehouse never left unattended when shutters are open.
  • Assisting in other warehouse roles, not just one primary role.
  • Assist with load and unloading of vehicles, checking against notes to ensure accuracy of receipt or dispatch of goods.
  • Raise concerns/issues with Supervisor/Line Manager as soon as they are noted
  • Flexibility with hours to suit the company requirements.

Essential key skills / experience:

  • Full valid Forklift licenses – both reach and counterbalance.
  • Physically capable.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Able to work under pressure, multitask and work to deadlines.
  • Willing to go the extra mile by starting early / finishing late when needed or asked.
  • Good time keeping.
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Able to maintain good relationships with colleagues’, subcontractors, and customers.

Desirable key skills / experience:

  • Knowledge of CargoWise.
  • MS Excel knowledge.
  • 3PL Operational Experience.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
