Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90.00 per day
Location: Tamworth
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

Smart Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tamworth. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children aged 2 to 11 years with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism (ASD), Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI), Physical Disabilities (PD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

• Gain valuable experience in a specialist setting, working with pupils who require tailored support in their learning journey.

• Provide one-to-one and group support, helping pupils to engage with learning activities.
• Assist in developing individual learning plans, adapting lessons to meet students’ unique needs.
• Support communication and interaction, using alternative communication methods where necessary.
• Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging pupils’ confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

• Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
