An iconic Lake District company seeks a new Finance Officer to join our dedicated team, handling the everyday financial tasks that support their legacy and continued growth. About the Role

  • Hours: Between 22- 28 hours per week, 3 days per week, with flexibility for a 5-day schedule if preferred. Standard working hours 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (Mon -Fri)
  • Salary: £26,000-£32,000 FTE, based on experience/qualifications

Your ResponsibilitiesIn this pivotal sole finance role, you’ll support the Directors and widen team, working closely with the companies firm of accountants at year end to ensure the smooth financial running of this £3M turnover SME business. Key tasks include:

  • Processing invoices and payments for suppliers and customers using Quickbooks
  • Bank reconciliations, petty cash, and producing monthly financial summaries
  • Weekly payroll using XERO software, including HMRC reporting and pensions
  • Managing online and in-store payment systems, inventory, VAT, and charity donations
  • Supporting year-end processes and P&L with the company’s accountants

What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a similar role with bookkeeping and data management skills
  • Minimum Level 2 AAT qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally, QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication, confidentiality, and ability to work independently within a small, supportive team
