Position Profile:

As an SME Account Executive, you will take on a key role in building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving growth within your portfolio. The role will be within the SME team that is more focused on e-traded Commercial Business, with opportunity to expand the role into the Audio & Visual Scheme. You will work closely with clients to provide tailored insurance solutions, manage renewals, and ensure their evolving needs are met with expert advice. This role requires a proactive approach to client retention, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the insurance market. Compliance with industry regulations and adherence to high service standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture long lasting relationships with clients by understanding their specific insurance needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, providing advice, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Proactively engage with clients to ensure their portfolios are adequately covered and their insurance requirements are continually met.

New Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and market knowledge.
  • Leverage your understanding of the commercial insurance market to identify client needs and present suitable solutions.
  • Drive the growth of the business by generating new leads and closing new business opportunities.

Renewal and Policy Management:

  • Oversee the renewal process for existing clients, ensuring renewals are completed on time and at the best possible terms.
  • Negotiate with insurers to secure optimal terms for clients, ensuring that their policies remain competitive and relevant to their needs.
  • Review and update client policies regularly, ensuring they reflect any changes in risk or business activities.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including FCA regulations, Consumer Duty obligations, and internal compliance policies.
  • Provide guidance on compliance matters to clients, ensuring they understand the terms and conditions of their policies.
  • Ensure all client documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Support the team in achieving collective business goals and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Share market insights and best practices with the team to improve service standards and client outcomes.

Market Knowledge and Industry Engagement:

  • Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to provide clients with up to date advice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and other key industry contacts.

Candidate Profile:

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience within the insurance sector, with a focus on commercial insurance, knowledge of E-Trade package policies an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, markets, and underwriting processes.
  • Proficiency in using insurance platforms and client management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and manage client portfolios effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance regulations, including FCA regulations and Consumer Duty obligations.

Desirable:

  • Cert CII qualification or willingness to work towards it, with business support.
  • Experience using Acturis or similar systems for policy management, client communication, and report generation.
