One of the JV partners looking after the tunnelling programme for HS2 in the northern home counties requires MEP Quality / Commissioning Engineer for the shafts and headhouses based between Amersham and Rickmansworth.

Reporting into the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for the commissioning of all applicable equipment, systems and machinery prior to being handed over to applicable end users with the correct documentation and adequate training to enable a safe, reliable and satisfactory operation.

As a fully qualified Commissioning Engineer the key purpose of your role will be to manage the new construction commissioning phase of the Align C1 Project and carry out all the commissioning related deliverables for the hand-over of new assets to the required standards and specifications of HS2 and other parties that HS2 will hold responsibility for commissioning.

About the role
  • Estimation of commissioning durations, writing the Commissioning Plan, ensuring that the Plan will achieve the scheme deliverables as agreed by the design team, construction team and Operations;
  • Reviewing and updating the plan as necessary in consultation with the project team to reflect changes during the projects commissioning period;
  • Ensure correct approval procedures are adhered to and all stakeholders are kept informed;
  • Carry out the implementation of the plan as a whole in accordance with approved HS2 and Align JV Commissioning Procedures, Align JV HSEQ procedures and all relevant HS2 Standards and Specifications;
  • Manage and deliver dry (and wet[CM1]) commissioning and any relevant performance testing of the new plant, ensuring all applicable standards and specifications are met at all times during the commissioning phase
