Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey? We are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive team in Amesbury, starting as soon as possible.



Role Overview

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a full-time position, perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children overcome challenges and achieve their potential.



Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the assigned student, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist with learning activities, ensuring the student remains engaged and on task.
  • Support the student's social and emotional development in line with their education plan.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers as required.
  • Promote positive behavior and help the student build confidence and independence.


Requirements

  • Experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 or SEN setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed in their learning journey.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
