My clients are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their busy team on a temp basis for 6 months. Working just outside Carmarthen, you will need your own vehicle, be available to start within the next 2 weeks and have previous payroll experience.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing all financial transactions related to payroll, ensuring correct payment rules and financial coding.
  • Ensure records are updated accurately and maintained to monitor different types of payments.
  • Implement procedures for the payment of salaries and wages, maintaining accurate records.
  • Be conversant with PAYE, National Insurance, and have a basic understanding of the Services Pension Schemes.
  • Apply Local and National Conditions of Service for all staff categories.
  • Handle queries and requests for information from employees, line managers, internal departments, or external organisations.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on payroll issues.
  • Ensure accurate payroll data storage for prompt retrieval.
  • Plan work schedules and resource requirements to meet monthly payroll deadlines.
  • Stay updated with GDPR and its implications on payroll services.
  • Address any over or under payments as necessary.
  • Support other teams within the HR Department as required.
  • Assist in training new payroll team employees.
  • Perform any other general duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
