Quality Engineer

Location: Andover, Hampshire

This is a full-time and permanent role working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:45.

Salary: Up to 43,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role:

I have been instructed to recruit an Experienced Quality Engineer to join our client's team in Andover, Hampshire.

This role is integral to ensuring that our client's products consistently meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, Production Operators, suppliers, and customers to drive continuous improvement and maintain the company's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development: Support new product development by utilising Quality Planning tools to proactively identify risks and assist engineers in implementing effective solutions.

Quality Assurance: Develop Route Cards and Inspection points based on risk assessments, customer specifications, and data analysis.

Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of new products.

Problem Solving: Lead Malfunction Document (MFD) processes and problem-solving teams to identify and address root causes of quality issues.

Auditing: Conduct internal audits on Quality, Environmental, and Safety matters to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Support: Assist with the dispatch of New Product Introduction (NPI) products through the ERP system and provide additional support to the team during peak periods or staff absences.

Compliance & Security: Maintain up-to-date calibration records and contribute as an additional member of the Security team.


Candidate Requirements:

Experience: Background in quality engineering within the defence or aerospace sector, with knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 (ISO 45001 and AS9100 would be advantageous).

Skills & Certifications: Lead Auditor certification (ISO 14001 desirable), APQP/PPAP knowledge, Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH preferred), problem-solving skills, and 8D experience. Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication abilities are essential.

Education: Either a Level 3 qualification with extensive experience or a Level 6 qualification with approximately two years of experience.

Technical Proficiency: Competency in MS Office applications and report writing.
