Your role

As an LGV Driver - Street Cleaner, you will be responsible for operating mechanical sweepers and carrying out various street cleaning tasks to maintain public spaces. From litter collection and graffiti removal to fly-tip clearance, your work will ensure a cleaner, safer environment for local communities.

Key duties include:

  • Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
  • Operating LGV mechanical sweepers and performing general street cleaning duties
  • Maintaining records, including logbooks and defect reports
  • Reporting issues to the supervisor as necessary
  • Keeping the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean

What we’re looking for

Skills and experience:

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Flexibility to undertake different tasks in various locations
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as waste management or environmental services
  • Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements:

  • Full UK Class C Licence and Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
  • Experience driving vehicles up to 26t (preferred)
  • Manual handling experience and an understanding of environmental services
  • Customer service experience when dealing with the public
