SEND Teaching Assistant

Engage Education has an established SEND team that collaborates with mainstream schools across Andover. We are currently partnering with these schools to find experienced teaching assistants for full-time intervention roles. These positions are integral to supporting students with Autism and various other Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.

The Role:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide 1:1 support for a specific child or work with small groups.
    • Follow guidance from the SEN Teacher and other support staff to teach and assist students.
    • Offer positive reinforcements and praise to students.
    • Engage in practical and holistic activities, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
    • Support students with Autism, SEMH, Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviors.

Job Specifications:

  • Hours: School hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 (term time only)
  • Experience: Previous experience in supporting students with speech and language difficulties, Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Disabilities is required.
  • Position Type: Full-time temporary or flexible daily supply work.
  • Daily Rates: From £85 to £90 per day, depending on experience.
  • Age Range: Most of our partner schools cater to children aged between 3 and 19.
  • Curriculum: Holistic and tailored.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership team.
