The SchoolAn independent specialist setting in Salisbury, catering for pupils aged 11-19. All students have a primary diagnosis of Autism, along with other complex needs. Most pupils have significant SEMH needs and can display challenging behaviour. The RoleA full-time teaching assistant role. You will work closely with a team to provide excellent care and education for young people. You will need to have strong behaviour management skills and a good understanding of how to support students' mental health needs. Main Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of class teacher
- Support students during lessons
- Lead some small ground interventions
- Work one-to-one with students when directed
Essential Criteria/Skills
- Very good level of spoken and written English
- Strong behaviour management skills
- High levels of resilience
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience supporting SEMH needs
- Previous experience working with secondary age students
