Role Responsibilities:

As Head of Art and Photography, you will take a lead role in inspiring creativity and a love for the arts, ensuring students have opportunities to develop their skills and express themselves. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the Art and Photography curriculum, creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

• Managing and supporting a team of teachers, providing mentorship and guidance.

• Developing lesson plans and projects that encourage students’ creativity and technical abilities.

• Organising exhibitions and showcases to celebrate students' achievements and engage the school community.

• Collaborating with colleagues and senior leadership to enhance the arts department and drive forward the school’s vision.

Requirements of the Head of Art and Photography Teacher:

• A relevant degree in Art, Design, or a related field.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

• Proven experience in teaching Art and Photography at secondary level.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both students and staff.

• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination requirements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
