The School
An independent specialist setting in Salisbury, catering for pupils aged 11-19. All students have a primary diagnosis of Autism, along with other complex needs. Most pupils have significant SEMH needs and can display challenging behaviour.

The Role
A full-time teaching assistant role. You will work closely with a team to provide excellent care and education for young people. You will need to have strong behaviour management skills and a good understanding of how to support students' mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of class teacher
  • Support students during lessons
  • Lead some small ground interventions
  • Work one-to-one with students when directed


Essential Criteria/Skills

  • Very good level of spoken and written English
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • High levels of resilience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure


Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience supporting SEMH needs
  • Previous experience working with secondary age students
