We are seeking a Junior level Embedded Software Engineer to join an award-winning electronics design team. You will be responsible for developing software for microprocessor-based embedded systems and their corresponding Windows-based applications. You will participate in the entire development life cycle of complex systems, from requirements analysis and concept development to design, implementation, and installation.

Your primary focus as Embedded Software Engineer will be on creating real-time closed-loop control and sensing applications, including on-board and SoC devices. Target devices typically include the Zynq 7000 series SoC, Texas Instruments MSP430, and Renesas RX series processors. Additionally, you will develop GUI control and test applications to support embedded system development, using C# and Microsoft Visual Studio on a Windows platform.

This company primarily works on government funded contracts and therefore require on site work and eligibility for SC clearance.

Essential Skills as Embedded Software Engineer:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Extensive experience in programming for embedded systems
  • Proficiency in writing high-quality C code, with some proven experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows application development, preferably in C#
  • Competence in hardware debugging and component-level testing
  • A BSc in Computing or a related field, or equivalent experience

Desirable Skills as Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Knowledge of control theory and experience in implementing digital control systems
  • Experience with video systems and standards
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system
