Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join their team in Andover. This role will oversee all aspects of transport operations, ensuring efficiency, safety and exceptional performance.

For this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all outgoing deliveries across their fleet, ensuring the availability of vans, trucks, and drivers to meet customer delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the transport team to maximise productivity, ensuring on-time deliveries that exceed customer expectations
  • Develop and implement transport policies and procedures to streamline operations
  • Monitor driver compliance, ensuring all licences are valid, driving hours are adhered to and all relevant regulations are met
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing fleet efficiency, reducing operational costs, and optimising fuel usage and vehicle performance
  • Oversee scheduled and reactive maintenance to ensure vehicles remain in optimal working condition
  • Contribute to the improvement of logistics and operational strategies
  • Manage and optimise third-party courier networks, both domestic and international
  • Ensure that all transportation operations comply with Health and Safety regulations

Experience Required

  • Operator Licence, essential
  • Previous experience managing a transport or logistics team
  • CPC Transport Manager Licence
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • IOSH certification, desirable
