- Product development including brainstorming and concept development, 3D modelling of concepts using SolidWorks CAD software.
- FEA analysis of CAD to determine mechanical stability of the design and identify potential failures.
- Contribute to all phases of the design process from "cradle to the grave" following a stage gate style procedure.
- Creation of detailed 2D drawings to be used by in-house and external fabricators.
- Project manage several projects and tasks in a busy environment at any one time.
- On site trial work, evaluation and testing of prototypes.
- Adhere to BSI quality standard requirements for machinery design.
- To assist the Purchasing and Procurement of products and parts with engineering and technical support.
- Work closely with the production line to identify issues, areas of improvements to streamline the build process and find solutions to keep the line moving.
- Liaise with external customers and suppliers in the development of machines and specialist solutions.The Person:
- Candidates looking for a technically interesting role who have worked within engineering sectors serving agriculture, horticulture, plant or off-road vehicle engineering are most ideally suited to this role.
- Project management skills with proven working experience in NPD for medium and high value work.
- Experience in sheet metal design, welding techniques and fabrication would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent 3D CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks).
- Full UK driving licence.
