Techniche Global are supporting Electronics Manufacturing firm based in Andover with appointing a Process Engineer who will support the Power Electronics (PE) Engineering department in the design and development of manufacturing processes applicable to power electronics assemblies, including conceptualisation and development of tooling, fixtures and test equipment

 Location: Andover, Hampshire (site based)Salary:  up to £40k plus benefitsDuration: permanent roleHours: Monday - Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00; Friday: 08:30 – 15:30  PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To undertake early-stage product and process development in parallel with emerging technologies and configurations.
  • To become familiar, progressing to expert, in production engineering manufacturing methods with hands-on build and testing of prototypes
  • To support and maintain process set-up and verification activity across full development life cycle, including measurement analysis and reporting.
  • To apply and maintain quality and to optimise engineering processes and practices for the manufacturing of products in line with company and international quality standards.
  • To provide professional and technical expertise and support the Power Electronics team to support customers and supply chain to meet department and company objectives.
  • Develop professional and personal skills through education, training, and development within the team and externally
  • Other duties as required to support the business
  TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Graduate with 2:1 or higher in Engineering or Scientific subject
  • 1-2 years knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques in a high technology engineering environment, ideally aligned to automotive, motorsport or renewable power generation.
  • Knowledge of engineering manufacturing processes and their selection to meet product design requirements.
  • Ability to conceptualisation, develop and optimisation new and existing processes, including being able to mentor junior engineers.
  • Ability to analyse process results and data and suggest and apply appropriate process changes to reduce variation and improve process capability.
  • Capable of supporting concept development through the use of ‘Design of Experiment’ practice.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis principles, using problem-solving techniques and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of CAD modelling and creating detail drawings (Solidworks preferred).
  • Experience of planning and prioritising personal workload
  • An understanding of ISO quality standards would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working and leading multi-disciplined teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Computer literate and adept with Microsoft office toolset
