Senior Quantity SurveyorAndover - 17th Century Estate - Major Refurbishment - £90MSalary £80,000 + Car Allowance £5000 + 23 Days Holiday + Pension Blaymires Recruitment is representing a highly respected contractor who is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be site based on a major 17th Century estate refurbishment, located near Andover with a total project cost of £90M.The chosen Senior Quantity Surveyor will have a rare opportunity to commercially manage the project costs of a major refurbishment of a 250 year old Manor House, consisting of a new nightclub, traditional pub, cinema and wellness centre with a project value of £12 M. The company will consider either a motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor who has Main Contracting experience. You will have large new build and refurbishment experience with a good understanding of JCT form of contracts.Responsibilities:

  • Procurement.
  • Planning.
  • Reporting.
  • Material purchasing.
  • Valuations.
  • Variations.
  • Sub-contract compliance.
  • Final Accounts.

Knowledge /Skills

  • HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification.
  • Knowledge of private high-end residential building contracting would be an advantage.
  • You will have a good technical understanding of traditional and modern building methods.
  • You will have large construction project experience, in excess of £5M.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office - Intermediate level of Excel.
  • Able to write clear and precise communications which might include detailed and complex figures, calculations, and specific building information.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn construction management IT packages.
  • A practical, logical and methodical approach to thinking and problem solving.
  • Confident in dealing directly with Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Clients, and Subcontractors.
