Field Service Engineer

Our partner is a well-established and privately owned company with a strong foundation built since the early 2000s. They are looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join their team as we continue to grow. This role involves diverse and dynamic work, including travel across the UK, with all necessary transportation and accommodation provided. Familiarity with process plant operations, as well as experience with equipment such as rotating machinery, pumps, centrifuges, and presses, is a plus; however, comprehensive training will be offered.

We're seeking a Service Engineer who is self-driven, highly organisedand dependable, with a keen interest in learning and professional development.

The responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer include:

  • Install, operate, and maintain mobile processing equipment.
  • Perform service contracts and mechanical repairs on customer-installed plants.
  • Conduct equipment servicing and installations both on-site and at the workshop, with occasional travel abroad.
  • Support the sales team by assisting with customer visits and providing technical insights.
  • Supervise subcontractors, provide training, and prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements for service tasks.

Requirements:

  • Perform field service tasks with expertise, leveraging a completed apprenticeship or formal technical training.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical issues in control panels; electrical qualifications are advantageous.
  • Proficient in industrial control systems, including PLCs, microprocessors, and motor drives up to 150 kW.
  • Possess experience in the water, wastewater, or process/manufacturing industries, with a readiness to travel across the UK.
  • Exhibit flexibility in work hours, including participation in an on-call rota, and maintain strong communication and reporting skills using standard office software.

Rate: 45,000pa to 50,000pa

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4:30pm
