We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with a Year R girl with complex ASD and communication & interaction needs. This role is due to start after half term.

Key Details:

  • Position: 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Start Date: After half term
  • Location: Small village school (no public transport available - driving is essential)
  • Role: Supporting a Year R girl transitioning into school with complex ASD and communication & interaction needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a young child with ASD, helping her transition smoothly into school life
  • Implement tailored strategies to support the child's communication and interaction needs
  • Foster a calm, nurturing, and patient learning environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure the child's needs are met effectively
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress, adjusting support as necessary

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD and communication needs
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with the child
  • Understanding of early years development and transition
  • A driver with access to a vehicle (no public transport to the school)
