Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and confident Learning Support Assistant to fulfil a temporary, long term placement within a specialist school located in Andover. This is a full-time role on a temporary basis starting as soon as possible, with a potential of a permanent placement.
The school, located in the heart of Andover, is a Specialist provision to support the learning of children with Social, Emotional Mental Health and behavioural needs, providing the best support and education to allow the pupils to flourish at their own pace. They deliver the full National Curriculum through half-termly topics (the whole school cover each topic) in an adaptable way, and provide curriculum-enhancing sessions such as residential trips, horse riding and swimming! The school aim to make a difference in all aspects of learning, creating supportive and resilient environments to assist growth, and believes in each child realising their potential without barriers.
As the Learning Support Assistant, you will be based within a classroom with a ratio of four adults with eight children present. You will be a resilient, patient and confident individual who will be able to jump straight into the role and provide excellent support to both pupils and the teacher. You will be available on a full-time basis providing much needed continuity within the school, and have a passion for working with young people.Â
The salary for this role is currently set from £12.63 per hour (minimum) and will be based on your experience.
For this role, you will need/will be:- Available as early as next week to support - Previous experience within a specialist provision preferred, but general SEN experience is desired/essential- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain)- Available on a full-time basis (five days per week, approx 32.5 hours per week)- Right to work in the UK
