Senior Mechanical Engineer – Staff – Salary + Shares + Benefits – East Riding of Yorkshire
Our leading engineering client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their organization on a permanent staff basis.
Responsibilities:
- Technical authority and final approval of mechanical aspects of the design and construction.
- Team leader of the mechanical team;
- developing and embedding company procedures,
- managing team priories,
- line management responsibility,
- resource planning and recruitment. Â Â
- Manage the interface between the mechanical team and other disciplines.
- Review design of Pressure Vessels, piping and components.
- Producing design calculations, materials selections, drawings, Bill of Materials, and equipment specifications in line with the applicable codes and standards.
- Mechanical sign off any design changes and implemented changes within the field as part of a management of change process.
- Support the development of the technical files, covering the design, supply, assembly and test requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with fabricators and vendors, including vendor audits.
- Integrate with suppliers to source materials that meet design, cost and timescale requirements.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant subject.
- Significant previous experience of working as a Mechanical Engineer in a relevant industry.
- Previous experience of using 3D modelling and design software.
- Familiar with design and specification of equipment in accordance with typical design codes and governing legislation.
- Experience in the following areas is a bonus: solids handling systems, high temperature materials, fabrication, Finite Element Analysis, design validation, new product design.
- Experience and desire to develop junior team members.
- Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
