Reed are working with a Manufacturing/Construction business seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to provide essential support across various operational locations in Northern Ireland. Working as part of a dedicated Health & Safety team, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and working alongside 2 other Advisors.   

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct regular health and safety visits and audits at operational locations and contract sites, aligning with company targets.
  • Promote a positive safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
  • Implement and uphold the CRH Life Saving Rules and the Ireland Materials Health & Safety strategy.
  • Provide advice and assistance on all aspects of health and safety management and legislation.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and high potential learning events.
  • Deliver safety campaigns and employee training as required.
  • Lead health and safety meetings and consultations.
  • Prepare health and safety reports and statistics for internal use and compliance.
  • Assist in the approval of contractors and hauliers, and in developing health and safety plans and risk assessments.
  • Support location managers during external audits and represent the company at industry events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH H&S Certificate minimum; degree level education or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an operational health and safety role, ideally within the construction, building materials, or manufacturing industries.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to developing solutions.
  • Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation and practices.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to handle incidents and information requests.
  • Willingness to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
  • Must be willing to travel to company operational locations and hold a valid driving licence.
