Fleet Engineering Manager
Arbroath

Alecto Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Fleet Engineering Manager to join their clients team at their Arbroath depot. This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee a fleet of around 65 buses, delivering engineering excellence and driving forward high standards of safety, reliability, and fleet presentation.

As the Fleet Engineering Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the efficient and effective running of our engineering function while maintaining our fleet in line with statutory and legislative requirements. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Management team, you will have the chance to make a significant impact within a growing and progressive organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective engineering support to ensure the fleet is well-maintained and operational.
  • Lead the drive for excellence in fleet safety, reliability, and presentation, meeting all relevant statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's proactive and preventative maintenance regime.
  • Manage health & safety policies and procedures to maximize improvements and promote safety across the team.
  • Collaborate as part of the senior engineering and local management teams to develop the business while adhering to budgetary guidelines.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in high-quality fleet maintenance with a strong focus on safety and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ability to lead a team in delivering a safe, preventative maintenance and repair programme.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, environmental, and employment legislation.
  • Customer-focused with a commercially astute and innovative outlook.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development in the engineering field.
