Group Financial Controller | Permanent | £65,000 - £70,000 | Production/Manufacturing Company | Armagh

Our client, a leading company based in Armagh, are seeking to appoint a commercially experienced Group Financial Controller, with strong leadership skills and 3-5 years’ post-qualified experience in Production or Manufacturing.

Reporting directly to the Managing Directors and supporting the current accounts team, the successful Group Financial Controller will support the delivery of the overall group strategy through the provision of timely and accurate financial and management information.

The Role:

  • Finalise and present the monthly management accounts, both on a consolidated and individual basis for all companies.
  • Develop the monthly management accounts to be representative of profit and loss.
  • Weekly cost reviews of all companies, providing projections, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Preparation and development of the annual budgeting cycles, including reviewing margins and product lines.
  • Manage the company cash flow and AP function
  • Improve current accounting procedures, reinforce new controls and processes to ensure more timely and accurate accounts reporting
  • Oversea the production & development of current KPI reports on sales and products, ensuring they reach management each week in timely manner
  • Assist in the production of the annual Statutory Financial Statements for all companies within the group and assist in managing the year end consolidation process for auditor and the banks
  • Maintain a working relationship with Revenue and HMRC authorities to support VAT & Corporation tax compliance.
  • Finalise all VAT returns and ensure submissions are on time
  • Assist in the preparation of Research & Development Claim for both ROI and NI Companies
  • Recruit, manage and Mentor all members of the accounts team, developing staff through the company’s growth
  • Overseeing Payroll procedures and assisting when cover is needed
  • Oversea the Stock/Inventory staff with a view to implementing an EPR System
  • Liaising with the PO in terms of the levy reconciliation and grand aid available.

You:

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or QBE equivalent) and up to date on current accounting standards and practices, with experience within the Manufacturing/ Production Industry
  • Good communication and networking skills across all levels
  • Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands-on approach
  • Proven ability to develop and improve working procedures and processes
  • Highly organised and efficient with ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met
  • IT literate, and proficient in Sage 50 accounts and Excel.
  • Flexible with relation to travel to meetings as and when required
