Day-to-day of the role:- Manage and collect customer debts in line with agreed terms to maximise cash receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer communications.
- Perform credit checks and set monitoring credit limits for new and existing customers.
- Ensure customer account details are up-to-date.
- Distribute statements and follow up as necessary.
- Generate direct debit collection runs and ensure timely payments by making phone calls to customers.
- Liaise with other departments and customers to resolve any queries, particularly with Customer Services and Sales.
- Initiate legal recovery actions if necessary.
- Create sales invoices for gas/energy supplies.
- Contribute to month-end reporting.
- Manage the accounts email inbox and handle phone calls.
- Support the Finance team with other transactional duties as needed, including covering for holidays or sickness.
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller (at least 1 year preferred).
- Ability to plan, organise, and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in using financial software and tools.
