  • Candidates must have training and experience as an Endoscopy Technician, with a focus on maintaining accurate records for auditing purposes.
  • The position offers a salary of £29,000 and requires at least one year of relevant experience.

Decontamination Technician - Endoscopy -Theatre, Critical Care & Anaesthetic

  • Conduct and/or ensure the daily disinfection process of the endoscopy washer/disinfector machines. Prepare and process flexible endoscopes as required by each department i.e.; Gastroscopes/ Cystoscopes /Colonoscopes/Ureteroscopes etc.
  • Decontaminate and process endoscopes following manufacturer’s guidance. Ensure appropriate and safe storage of the endoscopes and associated equipment.
  • Conduct the weekly maintenance of the endoscopy washer-disinfectors to include cleaning and taking of water samples for microbiology using an aseptic technique.
  • Ensure that checks are undertaken to ensure the integrity of the endoscopes and in the event of a failure - process for return to manufacturer for repair and document accordingly.
  • In accordance with national requirements, ensure accurate and legible records of each endoscope processed and used are kept in order that an audit trail (tracking and tracing) for each endoscopic procedure is maintained.

Essential Requirements: Trained & Experienced Endoscopy Technician.
