Yard Operative

Duties:

  • Keep the yard tidy and orderly at all times ensuring that there are no tripping hazards, or danger from falling or protruding items.
  • Offload supplier's lorries and put away stock in correct locations.
  • Load vehicles when necessary.
  • Assisting customers in loading goods purchased.
  • Monitor the movement of traffic in the yard to ensure that no persons in the yard or in vehicles are in danger of collision or injury.
  • Observe the Company's health and safety procedures at all times. Especially when using equipment such as forklift trucks and JCB loader.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times for example protective boots, high visibility jackets, helmets, dust masks and gloves as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Deliver goods to site when required on the small truck.
