Our client is a very prestigious luxury brand based in Ascot looking for a fantastic Mechanical and Electrical team leader to come and lead the team. They pride themselves on being a globally recognised brand and provide luxury events. They are looking for someone who can uphold their brand values who has a great eye for detail.

The ideal candidate will be leading the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing team and therefore must have previous experience of leading a team. The role would suit someone with building service engineer experience who wants to act as a role model for the team, has a great understanding and experience of Health and Safety regulations and RAMS, budget management, experience of site inspections and alarm management and procurement. The candidate would also need to have a Mechanical or Electrical qualification.

The Mechanical and Electrical Team Leader will be reporting to the Facilities Manager and leading a team of 3 engineers whilst coordinating with multiple teams around the business such as IT, Facilities and Operations.

The role is working a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. This role does require flexibility for some weekend work to support events on a rota basis. There is also the need to provide out of hours call out support on a 1 in 4 week basis. The company are based in Ascot and the salary is up to£47,000 with fantastic benefits including an annual discretionary bonus.

What will I be doing in the Mechanical and Electrical Team Leader role?

  • Responsible for the people management of the team and acts and setting working standards.
  • Responsible for Health and Safety within the team and contractors under your direct control, making sure that RAMS are received, filed, and followed.
  • Raising orders against budget lines, communicating and agreeing overspend with the Facilities Manager.
  • Agreeing shift patterns with the Facilities Manager to minimise overtime.
  • Maintaining the estate in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Undertaking regular inspections of the estate, making sure any faults are repaired within deadlines.
  • Conducting regular tests of alarms and systems, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.
  • Procuring materials, tools, and service providers for maintenance tasks.
  • Plan project budgets with the Facilities Manager.
  • Supervise the running of projects in with the Manager including consulting with other Team Leaders to implement skills such as Maintenance, ICT etc.
  • Provide out of hours call out on a 1 in 4-week basis.
  • Produce weekly reports.
  • Produce weekly planners for the team to understand the needs and wants of the business.
  • Sign off projects with key stakeholders.

What skills and experience are needed for the Mechanical and Electrical Team Leader role?

  • Recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent)
  • Considerable experience as a building service engineer for a large organisation.
  • Reading and understanding of drawings.
  • Hands-on experience of building services and building management control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, Electricity at Work regulations and COSHH requirements.
  • Experience of fault-finding techniques.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • Computer literate with a good standard of ICT knowledge including Microsoft Office.
