Smart Home System Designer - Kent
Are you passionate about smart home technology and looking for a fresh challenge? A client we are currently working with are on the hunt for a Smart Home System Designer to join their growing team based in the Kent area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative projects, designing and delivering integrated smart home solutions for residential and commercial clients.
What You'll Be Doing:
Designing and developing structured cabling diagrams, set-out plans, rack schematics, and schedules to bring cutting-edge smart home solutions to life.
Creating custom smart home ecosystems that seamlessly integrate multiple technologies and platforms to enhance user experience.
Leading design projects, ensuring all key deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
Managing documentation, maintaining version control, and keeping records updated.
Collaborating closely with project managers, installers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Attending site visits to gather information and liaise with project stakeholders.
Refining design templates, improving efficiency, and contributing to innovation in our processes.
Balancing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and managing priorities effectively.
What the Client is Looking For:
At least 5 years' experience in smart home system design.
Expertise in AutoCAD and Visio (essential for this role).
Strong knowledge of:
Multi-room AV & Home Cinema setups
Intelligent lighting and HVAC control systems
Networking infrastructure
Security and whole-home automation
Experience working with leading brands such as Crestron, Savant, Control4, KNX, Lutron, Rako, Cisco, Ubiquiti, Ruckus, and DrayTek.
Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, and DIALux is a plus but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality design and documentation.
A full UK driving licence is preferred due to occasional travel to project sites.
