Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location - Ashford, Kent
Salary - Up to £46,000 per annum DOE (with a Sunday premium on top of this - OTE £55k)
Hours - Sunday to Thursday 10.00 pm to 6.00 am

We have a fantastic opportunity in Ashford, Kent for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to work nights for one of our clients.

Responsibilities for the role of Multi-Skilled Engineer
- Responsible for the reactive & preventative repair and maintenance of all onsite plant and equipment to ensure safe efficient operation
- Remit areas include packing hall production lines, dry & cold stores, site facilities including cooling tower & production wastewater plant
- Will provide cover over multiple shift patterns as required
- Can-do attitude - leads by example and takes a hands-on approach
- Ensure there is a close working relationship with Shift Managers and Machine Operators
- Motivate teams and individuals to improve line performance
- Support the Engineering Manager to deal proactively with issues
- Drive through continuous improvement
- Be proactive in helping operations find solutions to problems
- Excellent communication on engineering matters to all departments
- Regular updates to shift managers' online performance issues
- Achieve factory KPIs as agreed by site management
- Ensure the Factory is working efficiently
- See opportunities for creative problem-solving while staying within the parameters of good practice
- Drive costs down wherever possible
- Make the best use of available time and resources
- Implement preventative maintenance
- Constantly strive to increase operational performance
- Optimise factory efficiency
- Maximise equipment uptime
- Develop methods to encourage continual attention to safe working practices
- Improve employee awareness of health, safety, and best practice
- Personally comply with all policies, procedures, and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities
Skills and Experience required for the role of Multi-Skilled Engineer
- Will hold a valid 17/18th BS 7671 Electrical wiring regulations certificate
- Ideally will have 3 years in the food/drinks industry
- Will have had at least 5 Years minimum experience in a similar multi-skilled role
- Possess excellent skills in fault finding experience on PLC/Scada/power & control circuits/pneumatics/mechanical drives & conveyor systems
- Be comfortable with the fact working can include being the only engineer on a shift with full responsibility for the site
- Be versed in production wastewater & cooling tower facility checks & repairs
- Will have a good level of IT skills in MS Office software
