Astute's Renewables Team is proudly partnering with an ambitious, motivated and growing business in the UK's Solar sector. They're a dynamic, forward-thinking and proactive business who have strategic and realistic plans to make significant waves in the UKs commercial and industrial solar space. They are looking to expand their work force by bringing on a Lead Electrician to look after their Southeast region, covering the majority of Kent.

The Lead Electrician role comes with a salary of up to 55,000 a year DOE, a pension contribution of 3% and Life Assurance.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Installation Manageryou will:

  • Lead and managing the team on a daily basis to ensure a premium delivery to the client
  • Lead and oversee commercial electrical installs
  • Coordinating with the mechanical team to ensure perfect cable management and penetration sealing
  • Mentoring an assistant, or Support Technician to upskill them
  • Ensuring perfect health and safety practices on site
  • Installing systems from a size of 20kw at the very smallest to (up to) 1MW at the very highest
  • Wiring, testing and completing the systems
  • Being the direct client interface when on site, if required
  • Travelling outside of area for business need, spending up to a week away at a time if absolutely necessary (with nightly allowances if this is the case)
  • Other duties as required



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • City & Guilds 2360 or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3
  • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395)
  • AM2
  • ECS Gold Card



Personal skills

The Lead Electrician role would suit someone who is:

  • Willing to travel for work (sometimes out of region)
  • A strong relationship builder
  • Someone who is very competent and comfortable with Commercial and Industrial Solar
