Exclusive to TPF Recruitment, Kent’s leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, this is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts & Tax Manager to join a highly reputable firm of chartered accountants in Ashford.

This position offers fantastic internal progression prospects with partnership on offer in around 5 years.

You will either be a Senior who is looking to step up, or an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager, looking to become a Partner in the next 5 years.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but highly successful firm of chartered accountants in a general practice capacity where you will manage a portfolio of work across a range of accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT with the support of a small team. This opportunity would especially suit somebody who is keen to become a partner in the future, but also somebody who is happy to get their hands dirty.

There is a good route to future partnership and the firm promotes a friendly and relaxed working environment too.

You will be responsible for a varied client portfolio, across a wide range of industry sectors, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies varying in turnovers, size, and complexity.  

As an Accounts & Tax Manager in Ashford, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage your own client portfolio
  • Preparation of Ltd company, sole trader and partnership accounts
  • Preparing corporation tax and personal tax computations, and tax planning.
  • Management Accounts, bookkeeping and VAT returns.
  • Working closely with the partners
  • Opportunity to get involved in business development, and/ or marketing of the business.
  • Overseeing and supporting more junior members of staff.
Requirements

As an Accounts & Tax Manager in Ashford, you will be:

  • You will be ACA/ ACCA or qualified by experience with at least 5 years’ experience within practice.
  • You will have worked as either a Senior or a Manager within a practice environment and have hands on experience of accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT.
  • Experience of Accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, would be advantageous.
