Are you an experienced and ambitious Accounting and Finance specialist looking to take the next step in your career? Our client's expanding, independent firm are seeking a Qualified Accountant with fantastic leadership skills to join and lead their dynamic accounting and finance team.

The company specialise in delivering exceptional financial services and support to entrepreneurs, digital marketing firms, tech SMEs, and start-ups.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a team of 5, provide structured training programs and to support team development and client engagement of financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering Accountancy and financial support and guidance to various clients and the business including

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, Tracking and managing accounts receivable and payable, Preparing cash flow statements and allocating payments, Handling VAT and tax returns, Conducting bank reconciliations, Providing financial reporting and analysis, Supporting the budgeting process and reviewing client financial reports. Resolving client and HMRC queries efficiently

Managing, Training, mentoring and leadership a team of 5, including

  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members, offering training and clear reporting structures. Reviewing and providing feedback on work completed by junior staff, Managing and developing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous development, Delivering training sessions and providing guidance to enhance team skills and efficiency. Organising and leading structured training programs to nurture the next generation of accounting professionals. Support team development, client engagement, and business growth

Business development and new client generation

  • Working within a number of existing customers you will introduce accountancy practices, as well as assisting in the onboarding of new clients and contributing to strategic business development

Experience and skills required:

  • A UK accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Proficiency in Clearbooks and/or QuickBooks accounting software ideal but would consider other account software's
  • At least five years' experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant with responsibility for a full entity
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a senior or management position and able to provide a track record of this
  • Knowledge on accounting between the UK and EU members desirable
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to explain variances and solve problems effectively
  • Keen to assist with business development
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in training and developing a team
  • French language skills (desirable but not essential)
