Our client is currently seeking an Customs Clerk to oversee and coordinate all customs-related activities at their Ashford site. In this pivotal role, you will optimise daily customs clearance procedures, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage customs duties effectively.

Job Title: Customs Clerk

Location: Ashford, free parking

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 DOE

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

Hybrid: Yes

Your main responsibilities would be:

  • Prepare and process customs documentation for imports and exports
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable customs laws and regulations
  • Communicate with customs officials and freight forwarders to resolve any issues
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and customs transactions
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and practises
  • Assist in audits and maintain compliance with internal policies

Experience required for this position:

  • Degree level or certificate in Customs
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, interacting with internal contacts.
