We are looking for Apprentices to join our team of Gas Engineers! SGN has an outstanding reputation for building safe experiences for our customers through delivering their gas safely, reliably, and efficiently. We provide specialised learning and development programs, providing you with access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills needed to excel in our industry.

In this role you will be repairing, replacing, and laying new gas mains and services - whilst gaining a Level 2 Gas Network Operations qualification over 2 years.

Day to day responsibilities will include…

  • Working on gas service/mains replacement activities, excavating in public and private highways for the laying and repairing of gas pipes
  • Being in a variety of outdoor environments, working safely and as part of a team
  • Using computer field systems
  • Achieving high standards of safety and technical competence
  • Opportunity to mentor trainee engineers
  • Working towards the Gas Network Operative Apprenticeship Standard (ST0204)

What you’ll need

  • A friendly and approachable attitude when working as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A full and valid driving licence is essential
