Mechanical Project Engineer required for a major water framework in the Southern Water region, working primarily on pumping stations.
This is a site-based role, 5 days a week, overseeing subcontractors and managing the technical delivery of mechanical installations. Responsible for ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards, with a strong focus on site-based execution and operational readiness.
Duties:
- Oversee on-site delivery of mechanical works, ensuring adherence to project programs and timelines.
- Monitor and report on site productivity, compliance with standards, and task completion.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and report project risks and changes.
- Collaborate with designers for practical design adjustments and problem-solving on-site.
- Ensure safe and compliant delivery of works, meeting statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Manage operational assets on-site prior to client handover.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders to maintain project progress and address site issues.
- Monitor commercial performance on-site in collaboration with the commercial team.
Candidate Description:
- Strong engineering background with relevant qualifications.
- Experience in water, oil & gas, or process engineering projects, particularly in MEICA installations.
- Practical understanding of on-site management, particularly with pumping stations or similar infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and site activities effectively.
- SMSTS, CSCS, or equivalent safety management qualifications preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
