Reed Accountancy & Finance are looking for a detail-oriented Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team on a temporary basis in Bethersden. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, ensuring that sales invoices are processed accurately and that payments are received in a timely manner.

Sales Ledger Clerk Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain up-to-date billing system and generate and send out invoices.
  • Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
  • Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations and monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and generate age analysis.
  • Review AR aging to ensure compliance and maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
  • Process credit card payments and prepare bank deposits.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries and communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally.
Sales Ledger Clerk Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
