Our client, a reputable company based in Pluckley, Ashford, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Assistant to join their team. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for payroll, this is the perfect opportunity to take your career to the next level.

Role Overview

As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for processing multiple company payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance across both weekly and monthly payments. You’ll play a key role in supporting the finance team by managing payroll adjustments, pensions data, and general payroll queries.

Will consider part-Time hours for right candidate with salary pro-rata

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and process weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple companies.
  • Deductions & Adjustments: Reconcile payroll deductions and adjustments to ensure accuracy.
  • Pensions Submissions: Compile and submit pensions data to various providers within required timescales.
  • Payroll Journals: Create and post monthly payroll journals using finance software.
  • Starters & Leavers: Manage payroll for new starters and leavers, ensuring all documentation is correctly processed.
  • Queries & Support: Assist with payroll-related queries and support the finance team as required.
  • End of Year Returns: Assist in processing P60s, P11Ds, and other payroll documentation for audits and financial statements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential:
    • Previous experience as a Payroll Assistant or Payroll Administrator.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • GCSE level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience managing payroll with complex variable pay elements.
    • Familiarity with IRIS Cascade payroll software (advantageous but not essential).
    • A payroll qualification or willingness to work towards one.
