Quality and Compliance Co-ordinator / Junior Quality Engineer

Established for more than 75-years, Jacksons is still a family run business with a reputation for supplying market leading Fences and Gates, all backed by our 25-year guarantee. Our clients range from homeowners buying fencing for their gardens to Industry and High Security establishments, protecting facilities and equipment. We currently seek an industrious and resourceful individual to join our small Quality/Compliance management team, based at our head office and manufacturing centre, near Ashford, Kent.

Role Summary

To work closely with the Quality/Compliance Manager in a wide variety of Quality, Environmental & Business Improvement tasks and projects.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Activities to maintain the Companys ISO 9001 certification and other relevant standards, regulations and product certifications critical to the company
  • Activities to develop and maintain technical specifications for internal and external use, and to increase product expertise
  • Activities to monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Work with Quality/Compliance Manager and the operational departments to ensure company processes and procedures are robust and adhered to and monitored closely
  • Administration activities, where needed, regarding Internal/External audits, and environmental issues and other requests
  • Monitor Calibration & Certification
  • Schedule certain training and refresher training for employees, update training matrix and maintain details
  • Collate relevant environmental data to support management systems, including EPR, PRTR and RHI, and report the data to Regulators as required
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects including product development and testing, attainment of new standards, regulatory requirements & product certifications

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be useful
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Word and Excel
  • An ability to understand and read technical drawings, and experience with Autocad, would be useful, but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a positive attitude towards learning and adapting to changing priorities

Qualifications & Training

  • A Degree, Diploma or similar qualification in an Engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Extensive training and a broad range of business-wide experience will be provided.


Due to remote location, own transport is required.
