Vision for Education is seeking dedicated and dynamic Prison Tutors to join our team and support learners within prisons across Kent.
About the Role:
As a Prison Tutor, you will provide high-quality education to learners in a prison setting, empowering them with the skills and knowledge they need to build a brighter future. You will deliver engaging and tailored lessons in subjects such as English, Maths, IT, or vocational skills, fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Support students in achieving their learning goals and qualifications.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with prison regulations.
- Work collaboratively with prison staff and other education providers.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Experience in teaching or training adults is desirable, particularly in challenging environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
- An enhanced DBS check and prison clearance (Vision for Education will assist with this process).
